A SOUTH West insurer has marked a momentous year with its highest turnover yet.
Cornish Mutual reached the £20 million mark in 2013.
Ian Pawley, its chairman, said: "The commercial environment we are in will remain competitive, but one of the strengths of the business model we operate is our interaction with the communities in which we do business. Our membership continues to grow thanks to our sustained focus on providing unrivalled customer services, and our commitment to staff development."
Despite the higher turnover, the company returned a pre-tax profit of £1,464,090 – down from 2012's £2,324,721.
It was awarded with top honours for the second year in a row at the customer service awards in London in July 2013.
At the company's AGM Michael Grigg stepped down from the board.
