Cornwall will be jumping with joy as the trampolining trend hits the county later this year.

The new Redruth Jump4 Trampoline Park – which will contain more than 60 trampolines – is the first of its kind in Cornwall and is expected to open in the early autumn subject to planning permission being granted.

The new park will cater for up to 60 jumpers at any one time, at Wilson Way in Pool.

The premises will also be available for group sessions and private party hire. There will also be a cafe/bar with a capacity for 120.

Trampolining has become one of England's fastest growing pastimes and now it's reached Cornwall. It's great fun, affordable and open to all ages and all skill levels, and is a fantastic way to exercise while spending time with your family.

Jump4, which was inspired by the vast and hugely popular trampolining parks throughout the rest of the UK, is proud to open a full range of trampoline attractions – from guided fitness classes to Jump4 fun. There's even going to be a trampoline dodgeball league for those who like to get truly physical.

Jump4's marketing manager Anthony Hudson said: "We're really excited to be opening a park in Cornwall. It has been a long time coming and Cornwall really needs this sort of attraction. We will be open from 9am till 10pm."

Jump4 is owned by Robert Kujawski, a successful businessman based in Cornwall. Robert has enjoyed visiting parks all over the UK with his family and has decided to bring the attraction to Cornwall. The attraction is due to employ between 20 and 30 people.

Last month Mr Kujawski submitted a request for change of use planning permission to Cornwall Council.

The application outlines a proposed change of use for part of a warehouse at Wilson Way, Pool, from bakery to trampoline park.

The section of warehouse which could be used would be leased from Portreath Bakery, which operates its bakery and pasty drive-thru at the site.

Although a final decision on the application is yet to be made, Marions Symonds, owner of the bakery, says that her business won't be affected and will remain open as usual should the trampoline park receive its rubber stamp.

Chairman of Carn Brea Parish Council Bob Drew says that he is unable to comment on the application in detail as it is due to go before the council's planning committee next week.He did however say that he welcomes any facility for young people, especially one that keeps people active.

He went on to praise the success of Rollers Roller Rink located nearby.
