Fire at house in Troon

Firefighters were called to a fire in Troon.

Emergency services were called to deal with a kitchen fire this evening.

The fire at a house in New Road, Troon, broke out shortly before 5pm.

Firefighters from Camborne and Penzance were called to deal with the blaze which was understood to have involved electrical equipment.

Fire crews cleared smoke from the property and nobody was understood to have been injured in the incident.

    Is it me, or does it seem strange that firemen from Penzance were sent? I'm not sure but would Redruth or Helston not be closer? They have fire stations, or do they not have enough staff. I hope this does not happen when the calls are taken in Yorkshire
