What is the healthiest way to cook chicken?

Being a major functional component of every cell in the body, it is extremely important that we get enough protein in our diet. Not only is protein vital for the healthy growth and repair of the cells but it provides our systems with approximately 15% of its dietary energy.

Protein consists of long chains of amino acid, which are essential to the body as they cannot be produced or stored in the body and so have to be provided through our diet. Boiled chicken

Before preparing any chicken meal ensure that you remove the skin and trim off any fat. One of the healthiest ways to cook chicken is to boil it as this method of cooking dissolves any surplus fat that may be on the chicken.

You can boil boneless chicken breasts in a large saucepan of water on a hob until the middle of the chicken breasts is no longer pink. Once the chicken is a light brown colour right the way through, remove the breasts from the water and shred them into strips to be put into your favourite chicken dishes.

Grilled chicken

Grilling chicken produces a distinct smoky flavour and helps to produces a moist, tasty meal. As the grease drips of the meat and falls through the grate, grilling is one of the healthiest ways to cook chicken. Whilst you wouldn’t cook a whole chicken under the grill, boneless chicken breasts are a great way to cook healthy, tasty chicken quickly and conveniently.


Stir-frying is not only a super easy way to cook chicken but it is also very healthy and when those delicious chicken juices mix with crunchy fresh vegetables, chicken stir-fry becomes a tasty and nutritious family meal.

Simply cut up boneless chicken breasts into strips, throw them into a wok, add carrots, broccoli or whatever vegetables take your fancy, and pour a tablespoon of canola oil over the contents before frying for approximately two minutes.
