One person was taken to hospital just after midnight last night after being cut from their car following crash between Penzance and St Just.

Firefighters from St Just and Penzance, and the rescue tender from Camborne, rushed to the scene at Newbridge on the A3071 at 12.15am.

They were responding to reports a car had been in collision with a wall leaving one person trapped.

Officers used crash rescue equipment to free the casualty, who was then taken to hospital by ambulance at around 12.45am.
