T'ai Chi is a gentle form of relaxing exercise from ancient China which provides mental, physical and spiritual benefits. It develops the Chi or internal energy of the body so it helps improve stamina, mental focus, and flexibility and is practised by both women and men of all ages and levels of ability. We also teach Chi Gung and Tao Yin or deep breathing.
Chi is what Chinese refer to as the life force so building up a store of energy through these types of exercises can slow down the ageing process and improve many health conditions like dementia, heart problems, obesity, balance, poor circulation and so on. T'ai Chi is a natural form of therapy that you can learn for yourself and practise at home so lessens the need for drugs and surgical procedures as it conditions the bones and tendons and improves arthritis and other degenerative problems associated with ageing.
The Kung Fu club teaches Feng Shou kung Fu. It is a soft but effective form of self defence training. It does not require any demanding physical exercise so it is suitable for people of both sexes and any age or level of ability. This style utilizes the dynamic force of Chi or internal energy and teaches a progressive series of self defence techniques and strategies which can help you develop confidence and stay safe in a wide range of demanding and stressful confrontation situations you are likely to encounter either at home, or at work, or out in the street.
The teacher is Chris Simpson who has twenty five years experience as a kung fu teacher.
