Members of the voluntary and community sector in Cornwall are being offered the chance to question the candidates for the Police and Crime Commissioner role at an event hosted by Cornwall VSF.
Taking place on Thursday 18th October at Wadebridge Showground, the purpose of the event is to give the candidates the chance to outline their manifesto pledges and then answer any questions the VCS may have.
The Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) is a new role that is being introduced in Cornwall & Devon with the aim to cut crime and deliver an effective and efficient police service. The successful candidate will be voted for by the public and will be responsible for ensuring community needs are met as effectively as possible and improving local relationships through building confidence and trust.
At time of publicising, the confirmed attendees are Cmdr Tony Hogg (Conservative), Cllr Nicky Williams (Labour), Brian Greenslade (Independent), John Smith (Independent) and Brian Blake (Liberal Democrats).
All questions need to be pre-selected two weeks before the event so if you would like to submit a question, please email it to Lydia.firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you would like to attend the event, places are free to members of Cornwall VSF and can be booked online at www.cornwallvsf.org/events/pcc-question-time/
