FIVE firefighters were called to a large gas leak on Lower Market Street in Penryn on Friday morning, which led to traffic delays.

While firefighters made a temporary repair to the pipe, police redirected traffic and closed the road outside the area of the Terrace.

Within 30 minutes Wales and West Utilities engineers arrived to repair the damaged pipe.

Later that day, firefighters were called to rescue a two-year-old from a locked car on Discovery Quay in Falmouth.
