This shocking video shows the moment when a man released the handbrake of a double-decker bus - sending it careering downhill.

The bus smashed into a car and a boat at the Ponsharden park-and-float yard in Falmouth. Three young men are seen entering the boatyard with one man sticking his hand through the window to get to the handbrake.

20-year-old Luke Anthony Pentecost, of Meadow Bank Road, Falmouth, pleaded guilty this morning at Truro Crown Court to criminal damage of a double-decker Western Greyhound bus and two counts of criminal damage to a Hyundai Santa Fe car and a boat, in relation to the incident on July 21 last year.

Mr Pentecost will be sentenced at a later date.

Then it was certainly left unlocked and unattended. Careless.

Am I right in thinking that the handbrake cannot be let off without the engine running? If so, then it was left unattended WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. Shouldn't someone be held responsible for that?

This idiot should be made to pay for the damage. Instead it will help to hike up the premiums of everyone else.
