    Hand's on animal fun!

We had a really lovely time at Paradise Park today, even though the weather was grey and drizzly. Last weekend we went to Newquay Zoo and I must say that, even though smaller, both me and the hubby preferred Paradise Park! It felt much more modern and interactive, we loved the fact you could get really close to the animals like the flamingos, and the children’s play area’s are much better too. Our one and a half year old enjoyed feeding the sheep, whilst daddy enjoyed feeding the goats. It was also really nice to see the Cornish Cough. 2pm was the highlight of the day – feeding the mini parrots in the avery. 50p per pot of nectar and they actually sit on your hand to eat it! There were loads of them, very noisy, flying around whooshing by close to your head. It was amazing and I could not stop grinning, we loved being able to get up so close to these colourful birds. The next great experience was watching 9 children get the change to feed the fish to the penguins. I loved the fact that they get the chance to do this (even though I really couldn’t bear to do it myself!) After feeding time we all got the chance to pet and have a family photo with a friendly penguin. The staff were brilliant and did not rush us through to get through the queue, they let us take our time and pet the penguin and have a chat and as many photos as we wanted. Best of all there was no charge for this, just donations in the box. Later in the afternoon we headed over the Jungle Barn indoor soft play area. We had great fun and there were lots of giggles from the little one. We mainly stayed in the toddler area - under-fives plus their careers. It was great that as parents we could climb in and play with our child on their level. All in all it was a lovely day and we will be recommending it to any families we know. The main reason we choose to come to Paradise Park in the first place was the £3.95 return ticket – we will definitely be back! Thank you.

    Excellent fun!

My son and I went here for the day, it was really good. Our particular highlight was the bald eagle flying in a demonstration. My son also loved the flamingos and toucan. We also had a delicious lunch in the cafe before going on to see the feeding of the penguins!

    Great Day Out

I really like this place, have been in summer and winter and it's always good fun. You can feed the birds (they sit on your arms and head to eat from your hands!) the otters, penguins and farmyard animals all for 50p! There's loads to see a train ride and they do a daily bird show which is really informative and fun to watch. I would recommend this to all ages! I have been with both adults and kids and always had a good day!
