A serious accident thought to be caused by icy conditions closed the main road between Falmouth and Helston for almost eight hours today.
The A394 was closed in both directions after the incident just after 8am at Rame Cross near Penryn left two casualties with either 'life changing or life threatening' injuries. The road was open by 4pm.
Force incident manager inspector Graham Thomas could not confirm whether there had been any fatalities but said the injuries of the two motorists involved were “serious.”
He said that police were not sure whether the two vehicles had been involved in the same accident or two separate incidents.
“The road conditions appear to be particularly treacherous and we are asking drivers this morning to be careful,” he said.
If anyone has any information they should call 101 and quote log number 204.
