Young Cornish Pirates trio named in SW Barbarians side to face the Royal Navy

Three young members of the Cornish Pirates squad – flanker John Stevens, wing Luke Jones and scrum-half Conner Fullerton – have been selected for a South West Barbarians side to face the Royal Navy.

This unique match, which takes place at Taunton RFC's Hyde Park ground next Wednesday, the (ko 7.30pm) will also see several Exeter Chiefs playing in the Barbarians side, including former internationals Sireli Naqelevuki (Fiji) and Ceri Sweeney (Wales).

The Royal Navy are playing this fixture in the run up to and in preparation for their annual contest against the Army at Twickenham in May, and admission on the night is £5 (Free for under 16s). There is also a two course pre-match meal available at £10 per head - anyone interested please contact Taunton RFC's Hyde Park Conferencing on 01823-336363.

Ian Davies, Director of Rugby at the Cornish Pirates, said:“This is a great opportunity for the three young players. They will be part of a very strong squad with a number of Exeter Chiefs also playing in the fixture. I'm sure the three lads will do the Pirates proud.”
