ORGANISERS of the Workplace Sports Day are looking for businesses to get up from their desks, swap their pen for an egg and spoon and enter a team as part of the Be Active Truro festival next Friday.
Businesses will come together for the fourth annual challenge on Lemon Quay to compete in some light- hearted, old-school sports day racing contests.
Natasha Howard, event organiser from Cornwall Sports Partnership, said: "This is a great and unique opportunity to bring your work colleagues together and get out of the office for an hour of sack racing and three-legged fun on a Friday lunchtime.
"This is a popular event in the week, and it is great to see such team spirit – and sometimes rivalry – between businesses."
The Workplace Sports Day is part of Truro's annual sports festival, Be Active Truro, which takes place on Lemon Quay from August 11 to 16.
Organised by Cornwall Sports Partnership, Totally Truro BID and Truro City Council, it's been designed to inspire people of all ages and abilities to get active to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Other activities throughout the week include health checks, fitness classes, wheelchair basketball, a climbing wall, boxing, angling, rowing, golf, tennis and more. For a day by day event list visit www.enjoytruro.co.uk/beactivetruro
The "old-school" Workplace Sports Day will take place during lunchtime on August 15 on Lemon Quay, and all equipment will be provided. There will even be a trophy for the winning team. Teams of four can enter by e-mailing the name of your organisation, contact name and details to Natasha Howard at firstname.lastname@example.org
Entry closes next Friday and it is free.
