Woman sexually assaulted in Liskeard on New Year's Day

A woman was sexually assaulted in Liskeard in the early hours of New Year's Day.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information about the attack on the 36-year-old woman to come forward.

The woman walked through the Cattle Market car park into Varley Lane and past Bowling Green Court at about 1.30am on January 1st.

As she approached the cut-through which leads into Lanchard Road she felt a push to the back of her head and her dress being pulled up from behind as the man threatened her.

She sustained whiplash to her neck but managed to free herself and run home.

The man is said to have had a Cornish accent.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police on 101, quoting reference BD/13/5.
