WEST Cornwall will play host to two free summer concerts to showcase the musical talent on our doorstep.
Penzance Youth String Orchestra St Ives Community Choir are both set to perform next month as part of The Big Gig.
The performances are among the 330 concerts taking place across England to bring people of all backgrounds together to listen to music.
The details have been announced today by Communities Minister Don Foster.
"This summer hundreds of thousands of people across the country are going to see fantastic local performers play a huge variety of music from around the world right on their own doorstep, sometimes for the first time, and get to know other members of their community better into the bargain,"he said.
Last year 200,000 people attended 224 community-led performances on the closing day of the Paralympics.
The Penzance performance will take place at The Exchange Gallery, Princes Street, on Saturday 13 July with the St Ives choir entertaining crowds at Trewyn Gardens, St Ives, on Sunday July 14.
