SOME of west Cornwall's artists are selling their works on eBay to raise money for the Philippines Typhoon Appeal.
Seb West, who works just outside St Ives, listed his painting, 'The Island from Clodgy Point', on the online auction this week and the current highest bid stands at £771, with 26 in total.
Mr West said on the website he was previously planning to sell his creation, which had been initially priced at £3,750, to fund a skiing trip after Christmas but added "suddenly that doesn't feel so important."
He stated: "After seeing the shocking news footage of the aftermath of the typhoon in the Philippines I felt I had to do something.
"Please bid generously. You could grab a Christmas bargain and maybe save a life."
Yesterday Mr West added good friends and fellow artists also donated items. He said an original piece offered by Glyn Macey, titled 'Secret Beach', would usually be £1,200.
While Judy Joel, who runs a gallery in Mousehole, has put a limited edition print of her picture 'Mousehole Lights' on the listing.
This morning photographer Simon Colgan also donated one of his images, a limited edition print that is said to retail at £265 on the website.
The bidding closes next week, on November 22.
