FALMOUTH-BASED Mojo Maritime are specialists in marine renewable energy, including offshore wind, wave and tidal energy. The firm is at the cutting edge of developing products that reduce risk and cost for the clients around the world.

For Mojo Maritime to continue to succeed and win contracts and tenders in a global economy which is increasingly environmentally aware, having a robust environmental management system in place is essential.

Since the start of the year, the company has been striving towards ISO14001 certification.

Business development manager Matt Hodson explains: "The certification will give Mojo Maritime a quality management standard by which we can manage and mitigate our environmental impact.

"For us, that means looking at our travel, finding ways to reduce our air miles and setting targets to reduce our power consumption.

"We know it's very important for any business looking to grow to achieve these standards."

To support its goal of achieving ISO14001 accreditation this year, the company spent two days participating in a fully-funded Fast Forward Group from Unlocking Potential.

Business leaders and managers tapped into the expertise of the world-renowned BSI, the business standards company, which brought its knowledge and proven track record to help the participants understand how the certification could be implemented in their businesses and help them achieve competitive advantage.

Matt added: "Taking part in the Fast Forward Group helped us accelerate our environmental management system implementation and our ISO 14001 certification, which we're excited to have in place this month."

Along with Fast Forward Group support, Mojo Maritime has utilised Unlocking Potential's Graduate Jobs programme, allowing it to employ graduates to enhance its offering and drive the company forward in line with its strategic goals.
