A TRURO woman is to shave her head to raise money and awareness for a cancer charity.
Natalie Myra Hore aims to raise £500 for the Institute of Cancer Research before shedding her locks on April 5.
She said: "Within the last two years, two friends of mine were diagnosed with cancer and, when walking into the leukaemia cancer ward at the Royal Cornwall Hospital to visit them, I felt scared and helpless. I wanted to do something as hair loss is a very common side effect when undergoing chemotherapy and this can have a huge effect on self-confidence.
"People frequently comment on my hair as it's very long and in good condition, so I'm going to shave it off to raise as much money as I possibly can for the Institute of Cancer Research so let's hope I suit a shaved head."
Natalie has already raised £242 of her £500 target and donations can be made atwww.justgiving.com/nataliemyra.
