Hollywood has come calling for a Truro milliner about to see her creations on the big screen.
Holly Young’s hats have been picked to appear in the blockbuster movie The Secret Service starring English heart-throb Colin Firth and Pulp Fiction star Samuel L Jackson.
The film is being made by British producer Matthew Vaughn, whose films include Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and X-Men: First Class.
Holly said, “I was so surprised and pleased to have been asked. They wanted to hire 30 hats in two weeks and I only had 20 so I made some extra ones pretty quickly.
“I will get them all back afterwards and they will be available for customers to hire from me this spring.”
The production company heard about Holly from a former Falmouth University fashion student who is working on the film.
Holly said: “They are all my original designs and I had freedom when making them how I wanted, they just stipulated the colours to go with the outfits.”
This summer Holly worked with milliner Jane Taylor making hats for Ascot and Harrods and her hats also featured in the first window display of the recently opened Bristol shop – UK Milliners’ Guild.
