A private school in Truro has appointed esteemed teacher Dr Glenn Moodie as its new head.
Truro High School for girls has announced that Dr Moodie will replace current head teacher Caroline Pascoe, next September.
He said: “I am honoured and delighted to be appointed the new Head of Truro High School for Girls.
“I am very much looking forward to moving to beautiful Cornwall with my family and getting to know the pupils, parents and staff of the school.”
The 40 year –old former head of Wycombe Abbey School, Buckinghamshire, grew up in New Zealand before coming to the UK in 1998 to study a PhD in Classics at the University of Bristol.
Dr Moodie has said that his wife, Vanessa, and their six year-old daughter, Livia, are both looking forward to moving to the county next summer.
“The quality and lifestyle in Cornwall is very attractive for someone from the South Island of New Zealand, and Vanessa and I think it is a great place for Livia to grow up,” Dr Moodie added.
