The Manager of Truro's Foodbank is taking part in a 100 mile trolley push, starting on 1 April, involving pushing a supermarket trolley from Lands End to Launceston.

Bob Girvan, Truro Foodbank Manager, says that this is part of a National Trolley Push, being run to highlight the "Hidden Hunger" being experienced in the UK today. The event is being organised by the Trussell Trust and is supported by more than 50 Foodbanks throughout the country.

The Cornwall section of the National Trolley Push will go from Lands End to Launceston via Helston, Mabe, Truro, St Austell, Liskeard, Saltash, Callington and Launceston, covering just over 100 miles.

Girvan hopes to complete the task within 5 to 6 days, doing 15-25 miles per day, in time to hand over to Trussell Trust team in Launceston on Monday 8th April. The trolley will have publicity material onboard and be equipped with suitable wheels for the long journey.

A wonderful act of human kindness. Se removed from the evil of the Westminster poltical parties whose only aim is to appease their banker buddies. They have lost touch with reality up in the Commons and Lords.

A great thing to do. Where are the London politicians? Probably filling out their claim forms! Time to vote them out for good and start remembering our own people.
