Redditch United 3 Truro City 1

City suffered their second Calor League premier division defeat in the space of three days as they were beaten after making the long trip to Redditch on Monday evening for a rearranged game, after taking the lead through Jamie Lowry’s first goal for the club.

The midfielder put City ahead after 29 minutes and they held the lead until just after the hour mark when Ashley Sammons levelled for the home side,

And Redditch then went ahead after 71 minutes with a Sam Youngs effort and the same player sealed the points in stoppage time with his second goal.

Steve Massey’s men had been hoping to bounce back from Saturday’s 3-2 home defeat against St Neots Town and move up from 19th in the table.

While they are 17 points clear of the relegation zone, they are seven points off their aim of at least a 11th place finish.

They are next in action on Saturday at play-off chasing Poole Town on Saturday.

City: Fisher; Tully, Kendall (capt), Pugh, White; Lowry, Green, Brokenshire (Copp), Cooke; Eddy (Sims), Watson (Ash). Sub (not used): Gilpin (GK).

Goals: Lowry (29) 0-1, Sammons (62) 1-1, youngs (71) 2-1, Youngs (90+3) 3-1.

Crowd 163.
