Truro City 0 Bromley 1

Crisis club City produced a vastly improved performance after last week's 8-0 thrashing at Maidenhead, but still  suffered a third successive defeat.

It has been another traumatic week in the recent history of the troubled club, which is anchored at the foot of the Blue Square Bet South table, after being deducted ten points after going into administration.

Although the  bulk of the players have agreed to stay on  and defer their wages until the end of October,   Adam Kelly, Arran Pugh and Ben Adlesbury have all left.

However, keeper  Tim Sandercombe,  who was set to leave for Oxford City, is staying  after the move appears to have fallen through.

And he turned in a good performance but had no chance with what proved to be the game's only goal just before half time.

After defending well, City were   undone by a sucker punch after 38 minutes  when some non existent marking  allowed   Pierre  Joseph-Dubois to all too easily head home at the near post  from a Michael Malcolm corner.

City  though were unlucky not to equalise right on half time   when left back  Ben Williams  saw his   a  fierce  header from Les Afful's corner thump against the bar.

In the second half City continued to work hard but the Kent visitors were largely in control with their pacy forwards a constant threat.

Substitute Albert Jarrett should have made it 2-0  in the closing stages but  hit the  bar when a goal looked certain.

Truro never gave up but were again hampered by a lack of numbers with just two players on the bench, including a fit again Marcus Martin who came on for his  first appearance of the season.

And there was plenty of support from the biggest crowd of the season  –  538 –  and several hundreds of pounds was raised by fans towards keeping the club going.

Now they are all hoping a buyer can be found for the club sooner rather than later if the club is to survive.
