Tributes have been paid to a young father who died while working on an electricity pole in Cornwall.
The West Briton understands the man who died on Wednesday night to be Ryan Thomas from the Grampound Road area near Truro.
Western Power previously confirmed that one of their employees died on Wednesday night in Pier Lane, Cawsand.
Alan Williams commented on Mr Thomas' Facebook page: "What a great guy, bad things should never happen to good people."
Sean Preston said: "Only knew Tommo for a season n a half but has taught me so much n was a complete pleasure to know him! Will be missed loads!"
Devon and Cornwall Police said the investigation was now being dealt with by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
The engineer is thought to have died when a wooden pole on which he was working collapsed.
Mike Rogers, distribution manager for Western Power Distribution in Bodmin, said: "Ryan was an excellent and much respected employee and a valued member of the team who will be greatly missed''
Western Power said an internal investigation had been launched and it had informed the HSE.
The HSE said further information about the incident could not be provided as the investigation was still under way.
But an HSE spokesperson added: "We can confirm that the HSE has visited the site of the incident at Cawsand and is investigating."
