POLICE are appealing for information after thieves stole cash from a charity shop in Camborne.

It is understood that the offenders posed as customers and entered the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust Shop during opening hours on Saturday, December 21.

Police believe the thieves concealed themselves inside the shop on Trelowarren Street, until staff vacated the shop.

A police spokesman said a “large sum of money”, which was raised by the charity through public donations, was stolen from the safe together with a CCTV recording server.

He added: “The floor to the premises had been painted and the offenders may have yellow colour paint on their footwear or clothing.”

Police are appealing for anyone who has any information regarding this burglary to contact them on 101 quoting police reference AC/13/5408.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or report online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

Anyone who would stoop so low as to rob a charity box should be named and shamed and punished by the courts.
