THIS moody picture of Falmouth seafront was taken last Friday as the storms battered Cornwall.
It was taken by Robert Peel, the father of an art student at Falmouth University.
“I went running from Falmouth centre to Pendennis Point with my camera to see if I could catch the sunset,” said Mr Peel, who was dropping his daughter back to Falmouth after the holidays.
“There was no sunset and the winds were gale force at the point – I could hardly stand up.
“I headed back toward Falmouth and noticed a storm heading from the West.
“The sun had just set but the twilight shone through below the approaching storm clouds.
“I just managed to grab this shot as a violent hail storm hit the Pendennis peninsula as I ran back to the hotel.”
