Members of three Hawkins Motor Group dealerships were seen to "Get Sudsy With Pudsey" last Friday to raise funds for BBC Children in Need.

The charity car washes were held at three separate locations across Cornwall where over £1,750 was raised during the one day events bringing the total raised to around £2,250. Hawkins St Stephen set up at Kingsley Village in Fraddon, Hawkins Penryn at Sainsbury's in Falmouth and Hawkins Hayle at Shell service station near Hayle Industrial Park. It was all hands on deck - even the dealer principals from each dealership rolled up their sleeves to wash cars due to the high demand!

Director of Hawkins Motor Group, Johnny Hawkins said: "We were overwhelmed by the support that we received on Friday and are really pleased with the amount we managed to raise for this fantastic cause: it was great to see so many car driving away with a shine!"

Despite the weather turning cold, spirits were kept high by generous donations from the public and local businesses.

Speedy Hire at Falmouth supplied the water bowser at Falmouth and Pressure Services, based in St Day, kept the water topped up throughout the day. Shell petrol station manager Simon was very accommodating to the Hayle team and Jade, manager of McDonald's Hayle kept the team fed an watered with free refreshments and lunch for all.

Complimentary homemade food and refreshments were supplied by the staff at Kingsley Village. "We would like to thank everyone that donated or helped out – we couldn't have done it without you!" said Johnny.
