THE pub in St Day, near Redruth, caught fire in the early hours of this morning.
Four fire engines and an aeriel platform were called to the St Day Inn.
The fire service described the fire was “well alight”.
The emergency services were called the the pub in Fore Street at 1.30am.
Fire engines from Redruth, Camborne, Falmouth and Truro, as well as an aerial ladder platform from Truro and an operational support vehicle from Falmouth were called out.
A fire spokesman said: “Thirty firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, fought the fire using four water jets.”
By 3am the fire was under control and being damped down. An fire investigation has begun this morning.
