A teenager was pushed into the path of an oncoming car by a complete stranger as he was making his way home after completing his paper round in St Blazey, police have said.

Officers are appealing for information after the young male was approached by a man who pushed him into the road on Wednesday January 29.

A representative from Devon and Cornwall Police said: “At approximately 6.55am on Wednesday January 29, on a footpath near the Penarwyn Woods area of St Blazey, a young male was walking home after completing his paper round when a male tried to engage in conversation with him."

He continued: “The male smelt of alcohol and pushed this young male into the path of a small silver vehicle which we believe was coming out of Penarwyn Woods, which managed to stop without causing any injury.”

The suspect is described as being around 20 years of age, 6ft 2ins tall and of mixed race.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Officers are especially keen to speak to the driver of the silver car.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting crime reference number GW/14/88.

This "man" if caught should be charged with attempted murder and would be if the CPS had any guts. But I expect it will be a slap on the wrist for assault.
