AN I’m a Celebrity….Get Me Out of Here fan from St Austell said she is delighted that her tweet was read out on the television programme by hosts Ant and Dec.

Anne Double, wife to mayor of St Austell cllr Steve Double, tweeted a question to the two TV hosts which was read out on the programme Tee for Two alongside a handful of other messages.

Her tweet asked: “If you were a contraband rule breaker, what luxury item would you smuggle into the jungle?” Read by Anthony McPartlin.

Meanwhile Declan Donnelly, 38, thought for a moment before responding with “stock cubes” because contestants are always complaining of bland food.

Mrs Double says she is a fan of Ant and Dec and mostly watches the show because of their cheeky antics. She said: “I just sent in a tweet and wasn’t expecting anything back, but there it was on the screen. It’s quite surreal in a way.”

The show, dubbed I’m a Celebrity, sees contestants complete a number of tasks and each week one person is booted off the programme following a public vote.

This year’s line up includes Olympic gold medalist, Rebecca Adlington; Strictly Come Dancing star, Vincent Simone; The Only Is Essex heart throb Joey Essex and Kian Egan from boy band Westlife.

Mrs Double has backed Kian to pip the remaining contestants, David Emanuel and Lucy Pargeter, to winning the competition.

She added: “He’s just lovely and deserves to win.”
