St Austell 4 Ivybridge Town 1

St Austell are through to the Throgmorton Cup quarter-finals after an excellent victory over Ivybridge at Poltair Park on Tuesday night.

The Lillywhites will now face Torpoint Athletic away on Saturday March 15 in the last eight of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League’s league cup competition.

A Will Tinsley goal was all that separated the sides after an entertaining first half but St Austell stepped up the pressure in the second half.

Mike Body headed their second goal from a cross by Stubbs, who added the third before Chris Reski made it 4-0 from the penalty spot after Body had been fouled.

Ivybridge scored a consolation in the last minute from a direct free kick but it was too little, too late to stop the Lillywhites.

In the premier division on Tuesday night, title favourites Plymouth Parkway were held to a 2-2 draw by Bovey Tracey, who scored their second equaliser two minutes from time.
