Businesses and residents of St Agnes are busy preparing for the village’s inaugural wedding fayre.
The Laidback and Lovely Wedding Fayre, which is being held at The Driftwood Spars pub, will open its doors on Saturday, March 22.
The event will showcase an impressive list of local companies for prospective brides and grooms including venue and accommodation stands, florists, jewellery makers, caterers, photographers and transport for the big day.
Organiser Annie Lucas, from the St Agnes chamber of commerce said: “Rough estimates put the wedding industry as being worth an £25 million to the Cornish economy with approximately 3,000 weddings taking place in the county per annum.
“Obviously this is a huge market, but for couples it can also be very daunting and is often disjointed, which can add to the stress of organising the event.
“A wedding by the sea may not be for everyone, but if you want to come to a place where everything you need for your big day is on your doorstep then St Agnes really does deliver.
“Most importantly of all St Agnes can make your wedding laid back and lovely.”
Companies in the village believe there are benefits to sourcing wedding products and services from a local community.
Anna Sawle, who runs a Wedding Flowers in Cornwall, said: “The businesses in St Agnes all know each other, that makes life so much easier when it comes to co-ordinating ideas.
“Instead of one faceless company liaising with another it’s a group of friends and peers that see each other daily chatting things through and working as a team.”
