Not sure it was CC responsibility to ensure a link but by helicopter but government should allow a subsidy to ensure such a service does exist or a suitable boat that can be used all year round.

All these delays due to weather are one of the reasons I stick with the Penzance heliport. Now that the big new control tower is nearing completion, crossing to the Scillies should be easier than ever. Thank goodness those halfwits - and we all know who they are - who wanted to shut the heliport down never got their way.

Shame the heliport was sold to Sainsburys. Cornwall Council should have bought it in the interests of the residents of the islands even though they a seperate authority. CC don't seem to represent anyone anymore.

Can the Scillies manage another winter like last year with events such as these?
