VILLAGERS are being given the chance to put their names down for a chance to get one of 24 new social houses in Breage.
A drop-in information day has been organised for today at Breage Village Hall, running from 4pm to 7pm.
Work is expected to be completed on the homes at St Breaca, near St Breaca Close in the centre of the village, by early next year.
There will be 6 for sale on the open market and 18 affordable homes, including 14 for rent and 4 for shared ownership.
The information day has been organised by DCH, formerly known as Devon and Cornwall Housing.
The company's Debbie Ould said: "We're looking forward to welcoming people to the free drop-in information event.
"It'll be good to meet people who are interested in the new homes being built for local residents, and be able to explain and help them in how they register their interest and what happens then."
Members of the affordable homes team from Cornwall Council and from Cornwall Homechoice will also be there with application forms and information leaflets.
Cornwall councillor John Keeling said: "This is an ideal opportunity for local people to discuss their housing needs with members of DCH and Cornwall Council on hand to provided help and advice."
Rented properties will be allocated to applicants who are on the Cornwall Council Homechoice register and in the highest band, with priority being given to those who have a connection to the parish.
