CHILDHOOD friends have fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening their own café.
Lesley Tremaine and Jayne Hall first met at primary school in Devoran and this week saw their ambition realised.
They have named their establishment Oscars, serving salads, sandwiches, pies, coffee and cake from the Lemon Street Market.
Mrs Tremaine said: "We decided in the school playground that we would one day have a shop or café together. We got older, got married, had children and now our children have fled the nest we decided to take the bull by the horns and open our café."
The women will be preparing a lot of the food themselves and buying in some such as pies from Grumpies of Cornwall.
Mrs Tremaine said: "We both love baking and this will play a major part of the business."
The café will be open from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.
