UKIP'S youngest chairman in the country has been appointed for the Camborne, Redruth and Hayle branch.

Rosie Ward, 17, was chosen as the party's chairman and has taken over from Harry Blakeley.

Mr Blakeley said: "Rosie, at 17, has the honour of being the youngest UKIP chairman in the UK and was unanimously elected at the recent branch AGM. This branch supplied four of the six successful UKIP councillors in Cornwall who also fielded the oldest councillor at 83, Viv Lewis.

"This shows beyond doubt that UKIP is supported across all ages by men and women equally."
