A rock climber has died after falling from cliffs at a popular climbing spot near Zennor.
The man, believed to be Dutch and in his 30s, was airlifted from the rocks at Bosigran on Wednesday morning.
Falmouth Coastguard were alerted to the incident just after 11.30am. They sent a rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose and raised three coastguard rescue teams from St Ives, Penzance and Land's End.
The man was winched from the cliffs by helicopter and flown to Treliske hospital in Truro.
A Falmouth Coastguard spokesman told The Cornishman: "We received a report of a climber who had fallen and had severe head injuries so we tasked three coastguard teams and a rescue helicopter and the ambulance service.
"The man was airlifted off the cliffs by the helicopter from Culdrose and taken direct to Treliske. He was in a pretty bad way. We have just spoken to the hospital and whilst he was at Treliske he died."
