A driver ran another motorist over in a road rage dispute near Truro.

The driver of a silver Bentley was knocked to the ground in the Pizza Hut car park near Truro College.

Truro police are appealing for information and trying to piece together exactly what happened.

The incident took place at approximately 3.30pm on Tuesday.

Sergeant Simon Taylor said: “It would appear that the victim was driving towards the centre of Truro when he decided to stop at Pizza Hut.

“When he stopped he realised someone had followed them in and was taking details of his car.

“Some sort of altercation has gone on between the two drivers and a passenger travelling with the victim.

“The victim has been knocked to the ground by a car or a car door as it was driving out of the Pizza Hut car park.”

The victim is understood to have suffered injuries to his ribs in the attack.

The offender was driving a blue Citroen Picasso and was described as being in his 40s, of large build and wearing a camouflage-style jacket.

Police believe there were a number of people in and around the car park who would have witnessed the incident.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police on 101.

It is obviously road rage if you use your car as a weapon. In no way does someone using bad manner justify an assualt of any kind

Why do the media glorify what is nothing more than bad manners in some cases leading to assault by calling it road rage?
