A SCHOOLGIRL has raised more than £350 for charity after watching a close friend of her mum's die from breast cancer.

Nine-year-old Robyn Warner, from Redruth, held a strawberry tea party for her friends, family and neighbours to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

She even got local businesses to donate various prizes for her raffle and cakes to sell.

Robyn said: "I wanted to hold this event because it will be a lovely way of seeing my friends through the summer school holidays and we hope to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

"I would like to give a big thank you to Merlin Cinemas who run The Regal for the cinema tickets, Bookers for the bon-bons, Warrens for the doughnuts, JD Designs for the gift pack, Country Store Health Foods for the cupcakes and my friend for the Victoria Sponge."

Robyn has raised £355 and the figure is still increasing.
