THE people of Redruth will be celebrating the decision to locate Cornwall's new archive centre in the town.
After a nail-biting few weeks when it looked as if it could go to the town's old brewery site or St Austell, with third alternative Hayle pretty much ruled out, Cornwall Council's Cabinet decided today (Wednesday).
A council scrutiny commitee had gone against officers' recommendation for Redruth to push for St Austell, but that has now been overruled.
There was concern over potential flooding issues at the brewery site and the fact it is not owned by the council, however it is expected to kick start a multi-million pound regeneration scheme.

Potential flooding issues? I'm sure they mean potential fire issues.
