The countdown has begun to RAMPS' latest pantomime which is to be performed early in the new year.

Rehearsals are well under way for Sleeping Beauty which will take place at St John's Hall, Penzance in January.

The company had hoped to be back at the Regal Theatre in Redruth for its 2013 show, but due to the ongoing building work, it is once again performing in Penzance.

Director Paul Blaber said: "As usual RAMPS have assembled a highly talented cast for Sleeping Beauty and are looking forward to welcoming audiences of all ages to a production which will be packed full of song, dance and comedy.

"The cast are joined by dancers from Bev-Lyn Dance and the choreographer is the highly talented Melissa Glover who has been putting the company through their paces since rehearsals began in September.

"Princess Beauty is played by Karenza Richards, her first principal role for RAMPS, but who is very well known to Redruth audiences for her superb singing voice and acting skills.

"Karenza's real life partner, Damon Taylor, plays her mum, Queen Bea, with Andy Christophers playing her father, King Bumble – a trio not to be missed."

Sleeping Beauty will be performed nightly at 7.30pm from January 16-20 2013, with matinees on January 19 at 2.15pm and January 20 at 3pm.

Tickets start at £8 and are available from Penwith Music Shop, 2 Union Street, Penzance or Just in Fabrics, Camborne on 01209 715211.
