The "most challenging windsurfing contest of all time" will be held in Cornwall this weekend as the county braces itself for another storm.

The Red Bull Storm Chase has arrived in west Cornwall where waves of up to 35ft are expected to hit the coastline.

The event sees competitors go on a global hunt for three storms beyond wind force 10.

Mission 3 to Cornwall was made official two days ago with a team starting preparation to compete in the heart of the storm, where winds of 80mph are forecast.

Four finalists are set to take part in the epic challenge which sees competitors battle against each other and the elements.

The Red Bull team are currently at Gwithian conducting a safety drill ahead of this weekend's competition.

An exact location for the event has yet to be confirmed, with Marazion, Gwithian and Newquay all mentioned in the running.
