YOUR chance to have a say on the future of a local hospital starts on Monday.
A two-month consultation period on Poltair Community Hospital and how services may be provided in the future has been organised by NHS Kernow and Peninsula Community Health (PCH).
The hospital at Penzance has been closed for more than 13 months.
Consultation documents will be available to the public from December 9 from NHS Kernow, GP practices in west Cornwall; libraries; council one-stop shops, West Cornwall Hospital and online at www.kernowccg.nhs.uk/poltair
Once they have read the document, they will be asked to tell us their preferred option.
The consultation feedback will then be considered by NHS Kernow’s governing body when it is expected to consider the findings in May 2014.
In addition, four public events will take place during December and January to give people the opportunity to ask any questions they have about the consultation process and options.
Next Wednesday, December 11, a public meeting will be held at St John’s Hall, Penzance from 6 to 7.30pm when people will have the opportunity to hear about the consultation options and to ask any questions.
There will also be three drop-in sessions for people to talk to staff from NHS Kernow and Peninsula Community Health. All three drop-in sessions take place from 4 to 8pm.
Monday, December 16 at the WI Hall, Church Street, St Just.
Wednesday, January 8 at St Ives Leisure Centre.
Wednesday, January 15 at Committee Room 1, One Stop Shop, St Clare, Penzance.
