OBJECTIONS have been raised after an application was submitted to Cornwall Council for planning permission to build a new wind turbine near Truro.
Some residents believe the proposed 48-metre turbine in Probus would be an eyesore.
Nicholas Arthur wrote on the council's planning website: "The proposed development is inappropriate in location, inappropriate in scale and far too close to the village of Probus and its conservation area."
Carey Sharp, who is worried about the effects that such a development would have on tourism in the area, wrote: "This part of Cornwall has until recently been unspoilt and there are several holiday houses nearby where bookings are beginning to dry up as the direct result of wind turbines spoiling the surrounding area.
"Tourism plays an important part in the lives of many in Cornwall and this should not be ignored. This wind turbine is too big, too close and we already have too many."
