Premier Inn plans turned down

Comments (0)

PLANS for a 68-room hotel near Events Square in Falmouth have been turned down by Cornwall Council planning officers.

Councillors on the central sub-area planning committee yesterday voted nine to four against the Premier Inn development on the grounds that it would affect the views of residents at Fisher Court.

Proposals for a 74-room hotel on the current Discovery Quay car park, were originally refused by Cornwall Council in August.

The revised plans for the 68-room hotel, which were submitted in October by New Cornwall Development, were met with a barrage of opposition from residents and hoteliers.
