Police search for alleged dog cruelty man

Police want to speak with this man about an alleged incident of cruelty to a dog at Truro railway station.

A train passenger allegedly carried out an act of cruelty towards a dog at Truro railway station.

British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for information after they received reports of a man, wearing a checked shirt and a light blue jacket, hitting the animal after the dog fell onto the tracks.

The alleged incident took place shortly before 2pm on December 16 last year.

PC Wayne Frost, of BTP, said: “A man went to board a train which had arrived at Truro station but the dog he was with fell backward and onto the tracks.

“After picking the dog up, the man is alleged to have struck the animal with force.

“I am now appealing to anyone who recognises the man in this photograph to come forward as soon as possible as I believe he will have information which can assist the investigation.”
