Police are on the hunt for a man and a woman in connection with a spate of thefts from art galleries in Penzance and Marazion.

On February 15 several hundred pounds worth of pottery and art books was stolen from three galleries in Marazion and one in Penzance.

The couple in question had a small golden haired terrier with them.

The woman is described as being in her late 50s, 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in and of heavy build.

She walked with a stick and was wearing waterproof clothing.

The man was similarly dressed, was bald and was also in his late 50s.

Police have released CCTV images and are keen to speak to the people pictured.

The force said it is believed that the couple may have been visiting the area as holiday makers so may have also stayed in local accommodation.

The four businesses affected  were the Market House Gallery, Avalon Art and the Summerhouse Gallery in Marazion and Cornwall Contemporary on Parade Street in Penzance.

Anyone with information or who can name either person, should contact police by dialling 101 or calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 and quoting crime reference AP-13-394.
