Police in Cornwall believe they have identified a man who was was found dead at a popular walking and cycling spot near Carharrack
At approximately 9am on Saturday January 18 a local dog walker located the body within the grounds of the mine works at Wheal Maid near Carharrack.
It is believed the man died at the scene but investigation into the circumstances of his death are continuing.
Local enquiries carried out have led officers to believe the deceased is a man in his seventies from Falmouth.
Formal identification has not been carried out and officers are in the process of contacting next of kin.
