Police appeal for witnesses after man is killed in crash near Newquay

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a single vehicle collision near Newquay led to the death of an 87-year-old man.

The collision occurred on the A3075 outside of Hendra Croft Farm, Rejerrah shortly before 1.30pm yesterday afternoon.

The 87-year-old driver, who has not been named, appeared to have suffered minor injuries and was conscious and talking at the scene, but due to issues with his chest he was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.

However, the man sadly died early yesterday evening.

A post-mortem examination is due to be conducted and the man’s next-of-kin have been informed.

Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101 quoting log reference number 309.
