Detectives are appealing to businesses in Bodmin with CCTV cameras to contact them after a man was mugged in the town in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man was returning home from the Garland Ox pub when he was approached by another male in Robartes Road when he was attacked.

Detective Constable Sarah Northcott said: “ The male first befriended the victim before taking about £15 from his wallet. They were joined by a further two men before the victim managed to get away in the area of Crab Tree Lane. The main offender said his name was Tom.’’

He is described as being a white, in his early twenties, of athletic build, about 5ft 8ins tall, had medium length brown hair, stubble beard with thick eyebrows.

He was wearing a white T shirt with purple lettering on, skinny dark jeans and blue suede shoes. He had a blue coat with a white zip and was well spoken.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV images from 12.30am until 1.30am on Sunday, December 22, along the route the victim took from Higher Bore Street towards Bodmin Library and up Robartes Road.

They should contact Bodmin CID on 101, quoting crime reference BB/13/2048.
